Mission Statement

  • To promote interest in all aspects of wood turning for persons of all levels of competence

  • To provide information, education and hands -on experience for all members

  • To explore new methods and techniques for advancing wood turning as a creative craft and a unique art form

  • To encourage membership in and give support to the American Association of Woodturners.


The Smoky Mountain Woodturners meet on the third Tuesday of each month at the Woodcraft store at 8023 Kingston Pike, Knoxville,Tennessee, at 6:30 PM for a couple of hours.  There are demonstrations by experienced turners, raffles for wood, display of turnings by members, discussions, and general sharing of knowledge and techniques.  Please feel free to join us as our guest!
